Chloe Adam BA (Hons), Dip, MBACP
Therapy & Support for ages 11+
About me:
With over 10 years’ experience working with young people across a variety of settings, I understand how valuable the right support can be. I’ve seen first-hand the difference that having a safe, trusted space to talk can make, particularly during the challenges of adolescence.
I offer a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental space where young people can feel heard, understood and able to be themselves. Sometimes having someone outside of family and school to talk to can make all the difference.
Looking for support for your child?
If you’re worried about your child or teenager, you may be noticing changes in their mood, behaviour or confidence and wondering how best to help.
-
They may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed or low.
-
School may have become difficult, stressful or something they are increasingly avoiding.
-
They may be struggling with confidence, friendships or relationships.
-
You may notice big emotions, difficulty regulating feelings or changes in behaviour.
-
They may be finding life particularly challenging alongside ADHD, autism or other additional needs.
-
You may have tried to help but feel that they need someone outside the family to talk to.
-
They might not want to talk to you — but may feel more comfortable talking to someone independent.
You don’t need to know exactly what your child needs before getting in touch. We can talk through what you’re noticing and consider whether counselling, 1:1 support, or a combination of both could be helpful.
What can I help with:
I support young people with a wide range of emotional and wellbeing needs, including:
-
Anxiety and low mood
-
School anxiety and EBSA/EBSNA
-
ADHD and Autism (ASD)
-
Confidence and self-esteem
-
Emotional regulation
-
Self harm and panic disorders
-
Friendships and relationships
-
Identity and the challenges of adolescence
Other sessions styles:
Alongside counselling, I offer tailored 1:1 support, which can include mentoring, confidence-building, emotional support and practical strategies. Some young people need a therapeutic space to explore emotions and experiences, while others may benefit from more practical support around confidence, school, emotional regulation, relationships or navigating day-to-day challenges.
Sessions are shaped around the individual young person and what they need, helping them to better understand themselves, build on their strengths and feel more able to manage the challenges they face. My regular sessions are 50 minutes, however for those who may find this challenging I offer a reduced session of 30 minutes.

What to expect

A space that works for them
Sessions are 50 minutes and tailored to each young person, their age, personality and individual needs. Parents are welcome to stay for the first part of the initial session, after which sessions are usually one-to-one.
You don’t have to know what to say
Your young person doesn’t need to know what they want to talk about or even why they’re there. We can take time to get to know each other, build trust and find what feels helpful.
Sessions can include a range of activities, such as: Colouring and drawing, Clay, Lego and building, Fidget and sensory toys, Sand trays, Slime
These can help young people express themselves, explore difficult feelings or simply feel more comfortable.
Flexible and goal-focused
Sessions can be targeted and goal-focused, or more open-ended depending on what your young person needs. It’s about finding what works for them and supporting the changes they want to make.
Progress
Therapy is a process, and it may take a few sessions to build the relationship and trust needed to work towards specific goals. Every young person is different, so we work at a pace that feels manageable and regularly review what is helpful.
Confidentiality
Sessions are confidential, giving young people a safe space to talk openly. There are limits to confidentiality if there is a concern that they or someone else may be at risk of harm. Wherever possible, this would be discussed with the young person first before involving others.
Parents remain an important part of the process, while also allowing their young person a space that feels like their own.
The aim is to help your young person feel heard, understood and supported, while building the confidence and skills they need to move forward.
