About Me
Hello, my name is Lucy, I am a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Haslemere, Surrey. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I work in a person centred way which simply means I aim to offer a space where you can talk things through in your own time, without pressure to have the answers. Person centred therapy is built around the relationship between us and I aim to meet you where you are and we can explore whatever
is on your mind together. My role is to offer a genuine, empathic relationship where you feel heard, understood and accepted. I believe when you feel truly listened to without judgment, you can begin to find clarity and a way forward that feels right for you.
How I work
I work with adults aged 18+ who may be navigating a wide range of life experiences such as family and relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief, bereavement and loss, loneliness, work stress, anxiety and low mood or simply the sense that something isn’t quite right and you are not sure why or how to make it feel better. Whatever brings you here, I hope you will find a space where you feel seen, heard and understood. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Sometimes it is about having a space to think out loud away from the everyday pressures of life. If any of this feels familiar to you then therapy might offer a way to make sense of things and focus on what feels important to you. It can feel scary to talk honestly about your fears or worries and having a confidential, non judgemental space to talk and be heard can help you begin to see things differently. Most of us experience anxiety or emotional distress at some point, whether it is in our personal life or at work. Sometimes we find ways to cope on our own and other times we need help to carry the burdens life can bring to us. You don’t need to know exactly what to say before you come to therapy, that is often what the process is for.
What I can offer you
I offer weekly 50 minute sessions with a free 20 minute introductory call to talk through what’s bringing you to counselling and to see if it feels like a good fit for us to work together. I offer face to face sessions from my counselling rooms in Haslemere or online sessions on Microsoft Teams platform. I can offer short term or longer term therapy and we will review our work at regular intervals. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page, I hope it has given you a sense of me and how I work and I would be glad to hear from you whenever you feel ready. My counselling rooms are situated in a peaceful, countryside location within walking distance from Haslemere railway station and town centre.
Fees
My fees are £70 per session with a 48 hour cancellation policy. Our first session requires payment in advance and then payment on the day of each session after that. Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer.
